Church History

Our church began in October of 1974 under the direction of Rev Bill Baker.  The first services were held in the American Legion Hall in Clewiston under the name of  “First Pentecostal Church”.  The church grew quickly and by the fall of 1975 had an average of 50 - 70 people & became incorporated.  Through many projects, fund raisers, donations & prayers they obtained the current property.  They broke ground & began construction December 10, 1975.
Dedication services were held January 14 & 15, 1977.

In September 1977 Rev Bill Baker resigned & Rev LG McDaniel was voted in as pastor.  His first Easter Sunday Service in 1978 was record breaking with 96 in attendance.  Rev LG McDaniel resigned late 1978 and Rev Joseph Thompson was voted in early 1979.

Rev. Joseph Thompson resigned late fall of 1987 & Rev J Mark Harris was voted in as the new pastor in 1988.  Rev J Mark Harris pastored the church for 19+ years.  Under his direction the Church was renamed to “Lighthouse Apostolic Church of Clewiston, Inc”.  He resigned March of 2007 and officially moved to IL in June of 2007.  Rev Reed Blumenfeld was voted in June 2007.

Rev Reed Blumenfeld pastored the church until December of 2009.

Rev Michael Hall was voted in as new pastor March of 2010.  Installation services were held for Rev Michael Hall on August 6, 2010.  August 28, 2011 the first Spanish service was offered in the morning service.  Spanish Services will be offered (via interpretation) each Sunday at 10am.  Rev Hall is looking forward to continuing to serve his congregation and the local community of Clewiston.
